This is a self-contained ESV that uses a buckling pin valve opening to power the actuator with system pressure closing the ball valve.

Advantages:
Any quarter turn valve can be converted to a relief or ESV valve. There is no size, pressure or temperature limitation. The buckling pin pilot gives +/–3% accuracy and the ability to work close to set point. The pin can't fatigue with pulsating pressure. A pilot proximity switch gives a remote signal that the valve has been actuated.
