Features & Advantages:
The Model "J-A" ESV is designed to utilize the directional flow to accelerate the closing process of the clapper in the valve. The valve sees only the inline flowing pressure and is in an open state until an overpressuring of the system media occurs.
When this happens, the pressure on the piston increases and buckles the pin at set point.
The piston movement releases the clapper – allowing gravity and the media to move the clapper closed to a bubble-tight seal.
Once the system problem is corrected, the valve is reset. With no pressure on the clapper, the clapper is raised by the external handle and the piston is pushed in to hold the clapper in the open position.
The buckled pin is replaced with a pin of the proper setting (colored to match the colors of the holding nut). You are now able to to return to normal operation.
